Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated White Sugar

  • 1 cup Water

  • 3 sticks Cinnamon (broken into pieces)

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and cover.
  • Let cinnamon steep for 1 hour as the syrup cools.
  • Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.

Notes

  • Breaking the sticks into smaller pieces exposes the inner bark for a much deeper spice flavor.
