2 oz Bourbon
0.25 oz Honey Syrup (Recipe: Mix 3 parts honey with 1 part warm water)
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
Garnish: Lemon Peel (wide strip)
Directions
- Prep Syrup: Ensure your honey syrup is room temperature or cool. (Do not put raw thick honey directly onto ice, or it will seize and harden).
- Combine: Mix bourbon, honey syrup, and bitters in a mixing glass.
- Stir: Fill with ice and stir for 25 seconds.
- Strain: Pour over a large clear cube.
- Garnish: Express the lemon peel. The sharp, bright oils of the lemon cut through the sweetness of the honey perfectly.
Notes
- This version is exceptional with “High-Rye” bourbons, as the spicy rye notes contrast beautifully with the floral honey.
